Although Giorgio Armani is perhaps most famous for his menswear collections, which have redefined the concept of how men can look. The masculine lines of Armani suits came to define the clean and straight edged look of the 1980s man, and have had a massive influence on fashion ever since.

Giorgio Armani himself was born in 1934, and worked his way up from a job as a window dresser in an Italian fashion boutique to a position as a lead designer at the Nina Cerruti label. Building on this success, the line split into two separate lines, Emporio and the popular consumer brand Collezione, which offers a more day to day line than its stablemate.

A core value of Giorgio Armani in recent years has been the idea of fashion with conscience, and he now works in such a way as to use sustainable products in his clothes and other items, and is widely known for only using "healthy" models to wear his clothes in fashion shows.
